RB Electric was founded in 1998 by Rufino Bustamante. Just a few years into his career as an electrician, Rufino’s hard work began earning him referrals and he soon found himself with a significant customer base. For several years, he held down a day a shift for a contractor, yet took on his own projects often working as late as midnight. After 10 years of these very long work days, Rufino finally struck out on his own in 1998.
For the next few years, his two sons, Edgar and Ulises often followed him to his job sites and quickly began to learn the trade. Due to the continuing growth, Rufino incorporated the business in 2009 and hired Edgar and Ulises full time. Today, Ulises runs the day-to-day operations while Edgar, leads projects as a field supervisor.

Rufino Bustamante
Founder/Owner
Born in Guerrero, Mexico, Rufino studied engineering at the National Autonomous University and completed his degree in accounting at Technological University, both of Mexico.
In 1988, he moved his family to Chicago where he trained and found work as an electrician. His accounting and management experience, as well as his relentless work ethic, helped him establish RB Electric as a reliable, efficient successful family business.
Ulises Bustamante
Supervising Electrician/President
The youngest member of the Bustamante family, Ulises attended Northeastern Illinois University, studying Accounting and Business Administration. After some other professional pursuits, Ulises felt most drawn to invest his time and energy to grow his family’s business, joining full time in 2012.
Today, Ulises handles all managerial duties including estimates, scheduling, code enforcement, material delivery and finance. He’s recognized as a Certified Supervising Electrician by the City of Chicago and all surrounding suburbs.
Edgar Bustamante
Field Supervisor
Born in Mexico and raised in Chicago, Edgar attended The University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) studying Philosophy. Bringing an abundance of experience, Edgar quickly became an invaluable field asset for the company, his experience, efficiency, and quality of work earning him the trust to oversee large scale projects on his own.
